Sedro Woolley

Sedro-Woolley is known as the "Gateway to the North Cascades" because it is located on the western edge of the majestic Cascade Mountain Range in northwest Washington State. It is situated north of Seattle, Washington and south of Bellingham, Washington on Highway 20, along the banks of the Skagit River. Set back into the deep forest of Skagit County, Sedro-Woolley has a deep history of logging. These days many of the old logging roads allow access to outdoor recreation in the mountains. To carry on the tradition, Sedro-Woolley is best known for Loggerodeo. This invitation-only chainsaw carving championship is the centerpiece of the longest-running 4th of July celebration in Washington state.
